The Castor Seed Planting & Processing Project sits under the GSC Empowerment Programme and is designed to give women, youth and teenage mothers a livelihood that survives a changing climate.
The project runs across eight workstreams — from agricultural training and input support, through value addition and processing, to market linkages, cooperative formation and long-term sustainability through a revolving fund.
Crucially, profits from the project are linked back to girls’ education and to sustaining skills training programmes for teenage mothers, so the impact compounds across the wider programme.
