Girls Support Center (GSC) is committed to creating lasting change by working closely with communities, leaders and policymakers to address the challenges faced by girls and young women. Through awareness, collaboration and advocacy, we aim to transform societal norms and ensure that girls have equal rights and opportunities.
1. Awareness & Sensitization Campaigns
- Conducting community dialogues to educate parents, guardians and local leaders on the importance of girl-child education and rights protection.
- Organizing radio talk shows and public awareness campaigns to address issues such as teenage pregnancies, early marriages and gender-based violence.
- Hosting school and community outreach programmes to equip girls with knowledge about reproductive health, personal safety and career opportunities.
2. Strengthening Community Involvement
- Encouraging active participation of community members in identifying and addressing issues affecting girls.
- Engaging religious and cultural leaders to challenge harmful traditional practices that promote child marriage and discrimination against girls.
- Creating community-led task forces and support groups to monitor and report cases of abuse and rights violations.
3. Policy Advocacy & Legal Support
- Working with government institutions to advocate for the enforcement of laws protecting girls from forced marriages, abuse and exploitation.
- Partnering with law enforcement agencies and legal aid organizations to provide legal assistance to victims of gender-based violence.
- Promoting the implementation of policies that enhance access to education, healthcare and economic opportunities for girls.
4. Engaging Men & Boys as Allies
- Conducting sensitization programmes to encourage positive masculinity and male involvement in protecting girls’ rights.
- Training boys and young men to champion gender equality in their communities.
- Addressing negative cultural stereotypes that reinforce discrimination and abuse against girls and women.
5. Building Networks & Strategic Partnerships
- Collaborating with schools, NGOs, government bodies and community-based organizations to expand outreach efforts.
- Establishing regional and national advocacy networks to amplify the voices of marginalized girls and young women.
- Partnering with donors and development agencies to scale up advocacy interventions and support long-term community development.
Through community engagement and advocacy, GSC is creating a movement that empowers girls, transforms mindsets and builds a society where every girl is valued, protected and given the opportunity to thrive.
