Behavioural change work sits at the heart of what Girls Support Center does. In Asuret Subcounty, facilitators brought together girls, parents, teachers and local leaders for a series of structured sessions designed to open up conversations that are usually left unspoken.
The sessions covered child rights, the dangers of early marriage, menstrual health, and the practical steps families can take to keep their daughters in school. Participants worked through real scenarios drawn from their own villages, which made the discussions concrete rather than abstract.
Community leaders closed the sessions by committing to follow up with households where girls are at risk of dropping out. GSC will continue to monitor these cases alongside the local probation office.
